Characterised by colourful, abstract faces that balance somewhere between the familiar and the unexpected. Features shift, perspectives overlap and proportions don't necessarily behave as they should. A misplaced eye, an exaggerated profile or an unexpected combination of shapes can completely change a character.

Some faces take form along the way — sometimes playful, sometimes peculiar, sometimes strangely familiar. Other works begin with a story or a person. In commissioned pieces, recognisable features, relationships, memories or small personal details are translated into PicassA’s visual language. Rather than creating a literal portrait, these elements become part of the composition.

Created by hand in Amsterdam, the work ranges from original paintings and sculptural pieces to commissions and collaborations, and can be found in private collections as well as hospitality, fashion and interior spaces — including Where Stories Meet, presented at Mandarin Oriental Amsterdam in 2026.

Ultimately, PicassA is about bringing colour, energy, character and a sense of humour into a space. The work is expressive and playful, with unexpected details that make you look twice.

With PicassA, my mission is to bring a sense of fun, positivity and lightness into the spaces my work becomes part of. After all, there are already enough things in life that need to be logical, serious and perfect.
